psūkhē was the Greek word for 'life' taken from the verb psukhō  meaning 'to blow' stemming from the idea that breath is the essence of life. It also means the 'soul', 'spirit' or 'ghost' essentially the part of us that is what we call 'the self' or 'psyche'

With these works I wanted to try and give a form to something that otherwise exists purely in an abstract dimension. The cloud is an ephemeral form, without boundaries and in constant flux and can symbolise many things. I have used different methods of laying two dimensional drawings over each other in order to create a form that feels like it hovers in real space. Like captured breath, channels of energy, neurological pathways,  consciousness or psūkhē
