The images created using the cameraless technique of the photogram here I am capturing the moving shadow cast by the object I move across the paper. This removal of the camera and film means that the paper holds the original light collected during the procedure and with it the memory of the object that was placed on it - a trace of the thing removed - its ghost . It is essentially a captured shadow - a drawing in light of where it once had been.

I am interested in finding that point at which a moment or an object is in its fragile temporal state, appearing to be simultaneously emerging from or disappearing into nothingness. I am drawn to the fragility of this moment. When something is simultaneously clear and faint, present and absent.  Rather like the quality of a half formed thought, a memory or a dream.
